3-D bacterial cell project

Make a 3-D labeled model of a bacterial cell. Have part of it cutaway so you can see the contents and layers. General class does gram positive bacterium,; Honors does the gram negative bacterium. Show and label all the structures. Make it colorful so you can see the different labels and structures. Research at least three sites before you decide what the structure actually looks like, or what are the actual contents and layers. Make it so it hangs from a string. It will be graded based on completeness of parts, accuracy, artistic interpretation, You tube has ideas if you have no ideas for how to make it.. try to be creative. It is due Tuesday for full credit.

Monday work

I am out on a professional day. Using internet resources, draw diagrams of the following passive transport methods...diffusion, osmosis, facilitated transport. Then draw diagrams for the following active transport methods... sodium potassium pump, phagocytosis, exocytosis, pinocytosis. They can be on 8 x 11 white paper. title and label each diagram with an explanation for each.

in class work Wednesday

Compare the structures and organelles in three different cells: bacteria, plant and animal cells. 1. draw and label a picture for each. 2. What are the structures in Eukaryotic cells (animal and plant) that are not in a bacteria cell? 3. What is in a bacteria cell? 4. How is the DNA different in a bacteria cell compared to Plant or animal cells? %. Hoe is a cell wall different than a cell membrane? 6. what is plamolysis? 7. What is hemolysis? 8. Why is it bad if you are given distilled water in an intravenous injection or IV bag?
