General Biology midterm study guide

Prokaryotes vs eukarotes Plant vs animal cells viruses organelles cell transport passive vs active please note that on the last essay only one student provided an adequate definition for both active and passive transport before they got into the details. Most of the details were very vague ex. passive moves things from one place to another. Instead of molecules move from an area where there is a high concentration of solutes in or out of a cell to where there is a low concentration of solutes. Rarely it was mentioned this was taking place in and around cells in living things, or how it is used to move nutrients and wastes (things?). Nor was there much elaboration on the role of the cell membrane or phospholipids or proteins.
